King George’s War ends.

The war represents the American phase of the War of Austrian Succession. Notice of the declaration of war between England and its allies and France, Spain and Prussia reaches Boston on June 2, 1744, and 20 cannon arrive for installation at Fort William on Castle Island on December 27, 1744. The war, which causes an economic depression in Boston, lasts until 1748.*
